Molly's Empowering Journey from Adversity to Advocacy

Molly's activist journey began at the tender age of 12 when she discovered her innate desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Her own experiences with barriers and disadvantages while growing up ignited a fire within her heart to ensure that no other young person would have to endure the same hardships. Driven by an unwavering determination, she dedicated herself to empowering others, and in doing so, she unearthed her true voice and discovered her fervent passion for activism.
12 years old
Molly volunteered for Save the Children's Syrian Refugee Crisis campaign. She created a sleepover event for 100 students, raising over 1000 pounds to support this urgent humanitarian cause.
21 years old
After facing loneliness for the first time in her life, she accessed support from UK Youth through the Belong Collective. She began volunteering through supporting webinars, writing blogs, co-designing loneliness projects with 12 other young people in the Belong Collective.
15 years old
Molly co-designed a Sanctuary Room within her school, aimed at providing a haven for students subjected to discrimination, be it xenophobia, homophobia, or any other form of prejudice. This space was open every day of the week, where students could find solace and support.
18 years old
Molly's passion for helping others remained resolute as she embarked on her journey to Australia. She volunteer with Red Cross Australia in an advisory position, determined to narrow the gap between senior management and the critical needs of young people.
22 years old
At the age of 22, Molly's dedication to combating loneliness earned her title of an iwill ambassador. Driven by a profound desire to make a positive impact, she invested countless hours in raising awareness about loneliness. Taking her mission to new heights, she amplified her platform and voice by participating in conferences, leveraging social media to spread awareness, conducting vital research, and spearheading impactful reports on the subject.
Now
Molly is a now seen as a dedicated loneliness advocate, volunteering and consulting on the issue. She has spoken at parliament's APPG on tackling loneliness, been interviewed by the BBC, and facilitated workshops on the intersection of safeguarding and loneliness with Volunteering Matters and Youth Focus North East. Eager to extend her impact, Molly is taking her advocacy for loneliness to new heights by creating valuable resources and launching a dedicated blog. Through this platform, she aims to shine a light on the issue, offering valuable insights and resources to raise awareness and foster a more connected world.
